WHAT
DO
YOU
NEED
FROM NJ ISACA?
Survey.
Earlier this year, the Board of
Directors commissioned a survey of the membership to determine what you
needed from our chapter of ISACA. The purposes of the survey were to:
-
Verify and update chapter
members’ contact information.
-
Obtain membership feedback about
how the chapter is meeting membership needs.
-
Determine additional chapter
services.
-
Identify members’ training needs.
Joe Rodman.
Joe Rodman volunteered to do the
survey and to prepare the findings for the Board. Joe is past president of
the New York Chapter of ISACA and served on the Boards and Committees of
both the New Jersey and New York Chapters. He has also made presentations
and written articles for both Chapters. He is certified as a CPA (New
York), CISA and CIA, and is Director–Internal Auditing for the Red Apple
Group in New York.
Process.
The survey followed the process
below:
-
Survey form.
-
Telephone script & telephone
calls.
-
E-mails & e-mail letter.
-
Personal contract contact.
-
Update master list.
-
Prompt updates to the Membership
Chair.
-
Summary of results.
Contact Summary.
36% of the members responded–a good
response rate for a survey, particularly in a profession with many busy
out-of-office travelers. Joe did his best to reach each individual
registered with ISACA as a New Jersey member to get his or her feedback.
However, many of you did not respond to the survey, or to Joe’s individual
attentions, giving us the overall response rate of 36%.
Overall Impression.
Overall, respondents were very
satisfied with the Chapter! Members generally indicated satisfaction with
the programs and activities provided by the Chapter, and had few additional
comments for additional services.
Where Can You Be Reached?
Our membership is very dynamic,
changing phone numbers and e-mail addresses frequently, making it
difficult for the Membership Committee to be sure that it has everyone’s
current addresses and phone numbers. As a result of this survey, the
Committee was able to update the addresses and telephone numbers of 131
members, as well as get new e-mail addressees for 83 members. When your
address, telephone number or e-mail changes, please contact the National
Office or the Chapter’s Membership Chairperson with the changes.
